About Animal Attraction Unlimited
Animal Attraction Unlimited is a dog training company located in Los Angeles, California. It is owned and operated by Laura Bourhenne. AAU offers private, in-home training for basic obedience and behavior modification, plus ideas for environmental enrichment (to help curb those destructive habits!). All types of aggression, object guarding, separation anxiety, socialization, puppy basics, house manners, and much more are dealt with on a daily basis.
Laura is striving to enrich the lives of pets by training and educating the people they live with. Her goal is to have your pet be treated as a part of the family. "All dogs can have house manners and be wonderful housedogs, no matter what their size or breed." This is accomplished through positive motivation techniques and reward based training programs.
The key to having a well-behaved dog is patience and consistency.
About Laura Bourhenne
Laura is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and she earned a degree in Exotic Animal Training in 1989. While working on her degree she trained many species of animals including several species of Primates, Birds of Prey, Ponies, Rats, and many more. Some of the animals were dangerous so it was necessary to train them from outside the cage, with no physical contact. This was accomplished with the use of a conditioned reinforcer, known as a clicker. (If you'd like more information on clicker training, see the Links to the right.)
Laura continues her education by attending numerous seminars and conferences each year, reading books, and watching training videos. She also has a vast resource of other trainers to talk to. Though she is very busy, Laura chooses to maintain a one-person training operation because finding someone who uses the same training methods, has the same feelings about animals, and is trustworthy is very difficult. Laura feels that when your name and reputation are on the line, and you are responsible for the welfare of an animal, you need to be careful who is representing you.
